This simplified documentation tool organizes all your basic policy / contact information, damages, repair costs, and insurance payments received-to-date…all in one place.

Flexible

You have the option of removing an item’s cost from the total repair & replacement costs by unchecking it’s inclusion box. This is helpful if an item is not covered by insurance but you want to keep it in your list of repair & replacements needed. You can check the box again and immediately see the cost of that item and how it impacts your total costs.

Overall, this tool will help you organize your repair needs as you start the recovery process of putting your home back together.

Simple

The Log tool is easy-to-use. It’s an Excel-based format (best to have Excel on your computer). Each sheet has instructions at the bottom if needed. You only input information in the yellow areas.

The Tabs (sheets) include:

General Information  – Policy information & contacts, Mortgage, Public Adjuster, Attorney info if needed

Vendor Quotes  – Repairs / Losses and costs to repair or replace them

Insurance Payments Received  – Tracks initial payments the insurance company sends you

Summary  – Summarizes Repairs, Total Cost, and Insurance Payments Received                                                                           – Check box option to exclude individual repair items from Total Cost if needed
