Why did my Download File open in “Protected View”?
This is due to the Trust Settings on your computer. Your Protected View settings (by default) are set to open Office documents from the internet in a “read-only” mode with macros disabled.
- If a file opens in Protected View (Yellow Ribbon at top), click “Enable Editing” then Save your file to a folder in your computer where you can access it.
"Can't Open in Protected View" appears when downloading file:
If the message “Can’t Open in Protected View” appears:
- Click OK, close Excel program (“X” at top right), and reopen the downloaded file again that is on your computer, not from the website.
- You can reopen the file from the Downloaded Files popup window, or go to File > Downloads > double click on the File
OR

How do I make the Download Sheets fit my screen better?
Monitors / screens come in all different sizes and display content accordingly. To adjust the content of individual pages to the view you prefer, either:
- Press & hold the Control key (Ctrl): then scroll your mouse wheel, or press the Plus sign (+) or Minus sign (-) to change view size.
OR
- Adjust the % Zoom Slider Bar at the bottom right of your screen by holding left mouse button down on the black bar and sliding it to the best % view for your screen.
Why do the Sheet buttons not show up or work on my iPad?
The iPad needs to have an Excel version that supports running or interacting with Form Controls.
Excel vs. Google Sheets Format
Our tracking spreadsheets are built on an Excel-based format, so we suggest they be used with the Excel for Windows program. Google Sheets has some issues converting Excel features. Although you can open an Excel spreadsheet in Google Drive, then edit it as an XLS file or convert it to a Google Sheet, some main features in our spreadsheets could be lost.
- Checkboxes may not show up or show as “False”
- Color formatting may not work, which is used for inputting information
Can I run the Excel spreadsheets on my Mac?
We have not tested the spreadsheets on a Mac computer. There is an “Excel for Mac” version of Excel but we can’t guarantee all the functions of our spreadsheets will work on it.
We recommend using Excel for Windows to use our spreadsheets.
